Wanted Teens Seeking Adventure

Captain's Log June 22, 2018-Ogden Dunes/ Marquette Trail Our final day of camp we partnered with the Calumet Artist Residency and contributed to the Gary Poetry Project.   The campers helped weed the Lagoon Outlook Garden at Marquette Park in Gary’s Miller Community.   Then we had a debriefing session where the campers presented their initial findings to their friends and family. Thank you to Miller Pizza for the dinner donation! Our campers are from Gary, Griffith, Munster, Porter and Valpo.   They will conduct service based learning across Lake, Porter and La Porte Counties. They will showcase these projects to the public on Saturday, October 13 from 4-6pm at the Marshall J. Captain's Log June 19, 2018-Michigan City The kids conducted their first round of community service by learning about how to spot exotic invaders in both animal and plant species. They performed trail maintenance and sorted mollusks. These duties helped them understand the importance of keeping our blue and green trails healthy.
